The story of Himalaya Gears is deeply rooted in the mountains and shaped by decades of Himalayan experience. Founded by Loben Sherpa, a passionate mountaineer, trek leader, expedition organizer, and outdoor professional, the brand was born from a lifelong connection with the world's greatest mountain ranges.
For decades, Loben Sherpa has dedicated his life to exploring, guiding, and working in the mountains. He has successfully led and supported numerous major mountaineering expeditions and hundreds of trekking programs across the Himalayas of India, Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan, as well as high-altitude mountain regions of Africa. His extensive experience ranges from remote trekking routes and technical climbing peaks to large-scale expeditions and wilderness adventure programs.
Through these years of field experience, Loben developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by trekkers, climbers, guides, and expedition teams. He recognized a common problem in the outdoor industry: quality equipment was often either too expensive for many adventurers or not designed to withstand the demanding conditions of the Himalayas.
This realization inspired the creation of Himalaya Gears—a brand built by mountain people, for mountain people.
Unlike products designed solely in laboratories, every Himalaya Gears product is inspired by real mountain experience and tested in the environments where it is meant to perform.
